Join us on Friday July 8th for a very special Beat Join us on Friday July 8th for a very special Beat Market and release party for ISSUE 04 - WILD DURHAM at @fullsteambrewery with live music curated by our friends @partyillegal featuring @missbhavenofficial & @lexonloudSee full event details at the link in our bio.ABOUT ISSUE 04For the last several months we have been working together to explore the idea of home and how to capture the flavor of a place. Together we foraged for ingredients from around the city and brewed them into a beer. Our magazine documents this process while also pondering the relationship between people and place, between cityscape and landscape. The Wild Durham magazine and shirt are available for order now! Shipping and local pickup available.Official release on July 8th at The Beat Market at Fullsteam Brewery. 730-11PM.Writing by Matia Guardabascio, Editor in Chief @enthusiastsaysPhotography by Dalvin-Earl Nichols @8bit.photogArt by Ted Cocuzza @eusweeshShirt printing by Laboosh @labooshskateABOUT THE BEAT MARKETThe Beat Market is free and open to the public. Our market does not charge vendor fees of any kind and offers guaranteed pay to performing musicians. We think artists provide essential happiness to communities and we don't think there should be barriers between people and the joy that artists bring to our lives. So come hang out, meet some artists, have a beer, dance, be in the community. If you're an artist interested in vending at future markets, then head to the link in our bio to register.#durhambeat #durhamlocal #durhambeatmagazine #gonzojournalism #thebeatmarket #fullsteambrewery #partyillegal #durhamnc #supportlocalartists #livemusic #artmarket #electronicmusic
When we started working with @manifestskateshop la When we started working with @manifestskateshop last year on our ISSUE 03 collaboration, we didn't know we were entering a world rife with poetry. Skating is an art form of the body and mind, a unison that translates a thought into a physical action. Over the course of our collaboration, we discovered these shared poetics and documented them in the form of a zine and a short film. This video is a peek inside the pages of the zine, which contain portraits by Sass, live action photography by Zorah Olivia, an in-depth interview with Manifest, an essay, a story, a whole section dedicated to exploring inspiration, and a short film.As we have been working on our next zine, ISSUE 04 - WILD DURHAM with Fullsteam Brewery, we have been reflecting a lot on the relationship between people and place. Those themes exist in a specific way in ISSUE 03 with Manifest Skate Shop, as we explored how skaters interact with the physical world and the places they call home.Visit our online shop to pick up a copy of ISSUE 03 with Manifest. And be sure to check out the short film we made on our YouTube channel!ISSUE 04 - WILD DURHAM release on July 8th and is available for order now. Check out the link in our bio to get your copy!Video by Pete Salomone @whos_pete
